A 2013-ban 30 éves jubileumát ünneplő Flaming Lips tagjai már kiadtak idén januárban Sun Blows Up Today címmel egy roppant slágeres új számot és februárban – Valentin napra, csokoládéból formázott életnagyságú emberi szívbe rejtve – a Songs Of Love dalgyűjtemény részeként is közzétettek pár új felvételt (köztük a Beatles-féle All You Need Is Love feldolgozását), márciusban pedig az austini South By Southwest fesztiválon nemcsak a 2002-es Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots sikerlemeznek szenteltek egy teljes koncertet, de már áprilisi új albumuk, a félelem és fájdalom témakörében mozgó The Terror összes dalát is bemutatták élőben a fantasztikus új színpadképükkel együtt (korábban csupán a Phantogram duóval közös You Lust című szerzeményt játszották a lemez dalai közül). A mai napon, április 1-jén (Amerikában csak két hét múlva, április 16-án) megjelenő új stúdióalbum teljes kilencszámos anyaga most már itt a MusicPress blogon is végighallgatható, sőt utána egy félórás kisfilm is megtekinthető, melyben az oklahomai zenekar fő dalszerzői, Wayne Coyne frontember és a multiinstrumentalista-hangszerelő Steven Drozd dalonként is kommentálják új – természetesen ezúttal is Dave Fridmann producerrel rögzített – mesterművüket.
